— Efficiently detect small differences that are difficult to distinguish by eye —
TRIART Inc. (pronounced Try Art; head office: Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President and CEO: Kentaro Imazu; hereinafter TRIART), a research and development startup in information security, has added feature detection and distortion correction powered by AI image analysis to MIIDEL, its drawing comparison system based on image analysis technology. The service is now available as MIIDEL Version 3.
MIIDEL is a drawing comparison system that prevents missed changes that are difficult to distinguish by eye when checking old and new drawings or documents. Since its release in April 2016, it has been adopted by more than 200 companies. It is used in many situations, especially in construction, including checking drawing revisions at work sites, comparing quantity takeoff drawings with contract drawings, and comparing construction drawings with design drawings.
In response to customer requests, we have released a new version, MIIDEL Version 3, with expanded functionality. Version 3 automatically recognizes features in the documents being compared, detects similarities, corrects distortion, and then performs the comparison. This makes it possible to compare documents that were previously difficult to compare, such as documents of different sizes or distorted documents photographed with scanners or digital cameras. It also simplifies drawing comparison by detecting changes between documents that were previously difficult to identify. Use cases now extend beyond drawings to comparison of documents handled in daily work, making the system useful to a broader range of industries for quickly and efficiently detecting small changes that are hard to distinguish by eye.
【MIIDEL Overview】
During building construction, accurate information transfer to downstream processes is critical, from planning according to design drawings and preparing estimates through creating construction drawings for each specialty and carrying out construction. However, drawings handed off manually can be overlooked or communicated incorrectly, sometimes causing major rework or ordering errors during construction. In response to feedback from worksites, MIIDEL was created as a system that makes changes easy to find and understand efficiently (Reference 1).
【MIIDEL Version 3 Overview】
Version 3 automatic analysis makes drawing comparisons faster and easier. Even when drawings before and after a change use different scales, the system adjusts zoom, rotation, and local stretching as needed before comparing them. It can also automatically adjust multiple pages, allowing users to do other work while comparisons run (Reference 2).

Users tell us that showing changes clearly in specifications and estimates as well as drawings improves work efficiency (Reference 3).

Automatic size correction also enables comparisons across different formats. New use cases include comparing scanned images with PDF drawings, and old blueprints with photos taken on smartphones, going beyond traditional drawing-only comparisons (Reference 4).
