From Centralization to Decentralization

‘XCOA’ is a distributed computing architecture proposed by TRIART.

As data traffic explodes, all systems are fighting against the pressure on infrastructure resources. However, maintaining and Continuously renewing large systems is costly. XCOA aims to build a highly resilient (self-recovery) system by increasing processing and resolving power over collaboration between participating terminals.

Move only the data you need

When processing is left to the server, all data needs to be uploaded(to be copied) to the server first, and then the results need to be queried again, leading to a vast amount of data communication.

In XCOA, when processing occurs, the processing (program) side runs over the network and performs processing while interacting with the terminals that have necessary data, providing only the results as feedback. Heavy data is moved as little as possible, no duplication, no transfer of personal information is performed, and lightweight programs are going back and forth between terminals that are in a cooperative relationship. This is XCOA’s concept of “New Local.

Terminals participating in the XCOA network are connected with each other through direct communication depending on the purpose, forming a immaterial computer. It is envisioned that the system will have a common authentication platform as needed, and will be responsible for tasks that require quick response, as well as operation of the system that require scalability and redundancy.

XCOA practical use example

There are many different manufacturers and models of AGVs used in factories, etc., and if they are mixed, the formats are different, making it impossible to create an intersecting layout. This system is a mechanism that allows AGVs from different manufacturers to autonomously yield to each other and intersect so that they do not collide or stop due to continuous avoidance of collisions.

Without introducing new infrastructure, we succeeded in allowing AGVs to “dialog” with each other through direct communication and drive cooperatively.

In this system, after some users with the right conditions. download the data from the server, the users share data among themselves and distribute it in a mesh-like fashion until it is distributed to the entire users. We also control unauthorized copying by combining encryption and secret sharing.

In this way, it is possible to start a small distribution service without procuring huge infrastructure.
