Developed a mobile live video system with advanced information-leak prevention technology

— A flexible work environment with stronger security —

TRIART Inc. (head office: Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; hereinafter TRIART), a technology startup, and Toyota Motor Kyushu, Inc. (head office: Miyawaka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; hereinafter Toyota Kyushu) have developed a mobile live video system that prevents corporate information leaks by encrypting information captured by cameras that operate only in designated environments.

As smart devices have become common in the workplace, companies increasingly use them instead of PCs for their convenience. At the same time, many companies handle confidential information and have restricted use of camera-equipped phones and smartphones to prevent information leaks through the simple act of taking a photo. In February 2014, TRIART and Toyota Kyushu jointly developed a secure camera system that controls camera functions and manages data without leaving any data on the device, and have operated it at Toyota Kyushu factories.
The system created a work environment where confidential information can be photographed while maintaining strict security. Image data has helped improve the structure of automobile parts during assembly, among other efficiencies. TRIART commercialized the system as XCOA-CAM and has received positive feedback from companies that need to introduce mobile devices while maintaining security.

Building on experience accumulated to date, we have now developed a system that shares not only image information but also live video while maintaining advanced security.
The new system combines technology that controls the cameras of smart devices such as iPhones with secure server technology that restricts who can view content to prevent information leaks. By controlling location, time, and user permissions, it shares live video in real time and makes it possible to carry out highly confidential projects between remote sites that are difficult to connect, such as locations in Japan and overseas. It also addresses the way security measures can make rapid operations difficult by providing an interface that helps administrators respond more quickly. For example, when a disaster or accident occurs at a remote site, an administrator can easily control the site device remotely to transmit video and immediately understand the situation.

TRIART is a technology startup originating from Kyushu Institute of Technology. It aims to be a research-strategy company developing unique technologies through industry-academia collaboration. It has a track record in remote medical systems for smartphones requiring strong security and the network infrastructure supporting them. Its secure smartphone solutions have been adopted in many places in Japan and abroad.
Toyota Kyushu, meanwhile, values regional collaboration to rediscover and make use of Kyushu strengths, based on its principles of developing local communities and coexisting and prospering with business partners. It emphasizes efforts to strengthen Kyushu overall competitiveness by collaborating with local IT startups.
